First time towing the caravan. Our adventure began on the Northlink boat north to Shetland ( from Orkney ). This was a daytime special sailing for Shetland 2005.
The campsite was right beside the Clickiminn sports centre & next to the running track. Our Kids were 9 & 7 and had free access to all sports. No transportation was necessary. We jumped the fence to watch athletics, strolled across to swimming pool for the heats & evening finals absolutely loving the Jarl Squad songs and the parade of happy officials led by the late Ian Gibson. Indoor bowls was along the corridor & the volleyball was full of excitement, as we sat along the front enjoying the sight of the large Faroese flag being waved with gusto on the end of an extended fishing rod.
An Island Games I will never forget. The kids still have their caps full of Pin badges.
