“The atmosphere was just incredible. And I think all the athletes said it was the best atmosphere, you know, of a games that they’d ever taken part in. And to see our home athletes with our families, everybody was so well supported. And of course, my friend Lol’s future son-in-law, who won Silver in the Golf. I think one of the teams had spent £5,000 on wet weather gear. to come here and so there was a mad dash, you know, for t-shirts and shorts and that, you couldn’t have paid for that weather.”
