Towards the beginning of the week I hadn’t been that involved in going to watch any of the sports and things but on the Thursday evening, I went with my friend to Piccy to watch some of the Relay Heats and I enjoyed the food fans very much.
It was a gorgeous week of weather and it was a lovely atmosphere and that was kind of my reminder of why I hadn’t gone to stuff earlier in the week because I knew I would have just completely invested and work would have gone out the window.
On Friday work did go out the window I was working from home but I had the finals of the relays and all the Orkney girls were in finals that week and won lots of golds. So I was watching that and then every so often I would leave my desk, um, and go along the street to where the Criterium was going past because it was very close to my house.
And so the uphill Sprint and was just about 30 seconds along the road so every so often I would just go out and watch a bit of the criterium which was really cool. It was very cool. And even going up the hill the speed, especially the guys race, just because there were so many of them and the ground was vibrating at one point. It was very cool and great to have that on your doorstep. The whole thing was very professional and seemed like what you would see on your TV.
